How does a Bouquet Subscription (aka Flower Subscription, Bouquet CSA or Flower CSA) work?

  • All of those names mean the same thing: As a consumer you are paying a farmer in advance for a share of the flowers we will be growing during the next season (April - October). Purchasing a share is a great way to get the highest quality, locally-grown flowers at an affordable price.

  • Subscriptions/CSAs are also a wonderful way to support a small family farm like ours that is committed to organic, sustainable agriculture practices. This means no pesticides on your flowers!

How long do your Flower Bouquets last?

  • Our customers report that our T-REX Flower Farm bouquets last 10-14 days.

  • The reason our flowers have such a long vase life is because we are growing them in Lake County, Illinois, where you likely live. The flowers will not fly in a plane and travel over international borders. They are grown mere minutes from your home. From the time we pick the flowers, process, condition and deliver them to your door, only 2-3 days will have passed.

  • That said, every flower has a specific vase life. One of the most popular late summer flowers, the splendid dahlia, has a relatively short vase life at 4-6 days. Conversely, the equally superb zinnias, hydrangea, lisianthus, snapdragons and strawflowers can last 14+ days with proper care.

Tell me more about your bouquet subscriptions. Is there any fine print?

  • Bouquet subscriptions are non-refundable.

  • We cannot switch delivery locations once the season has started.

  • We will do our best to leave your bouquet in a cool, dry, shady area until you can bring it inside, but cannot guarantee the condition of the bouquet once it’s been delivered. Please follow the instructions received with your subscription to ensure the best possible outcome for your bouquet, especially in the heat of the summer.

  • If you are unable to accept your bouquet delivery at any time we ask that you gift the bouquet to a friend, family member or neighbor to enjoy. Please tell them when and where your delivery arrives as we cannot deliver to them.

  • Bouquet subscription pricing includes: fresh flower bouquet in a paper sleeve and delivery to one location for the duration of the subscription (Illinois tax is calculated at check-out).

Why are the Bouquet Subscriptions non-refundable?

  • When you place an order for a Bouquet Subscription, the money is immediately allocated to the needs of the farm’s operating expenses for the upcoming season. In short, we modify our crop plan based on the number of subscriptions ordered. Seeds and bulbs are ordered (and planted!) months ahead of the season to ensure we meet the expectations of all our subscribers.

  • If you are unable to use your Bouquet Subscription after its been purchased, we ask that you find a friend, neighbor or loved one to enjoy it.

Can I purchase a bouquet subscription as a gift?

  • Yes. Gift subscriptions are purchased all the time, for one or many recipients.

  • Please note that the recipient(s) MUST be within our delivery area.

  • Upon purchase, simply send us a message indicating who the subscription is intended for and include the following information: Name, Email + Physical Address.

  • Once we have this information we will send you a PDF gift voucher to print.

Can I use your bouquet subscriptions for my office or restaurant?

  • Absolutely! Offices and restaurants regularly utilize our bouquet subscription service for their reception area. The current subscription system is set-up to deliver every 1-2 weeks, depending on the mood of Mother Nature. However if your office or business needs a defined delivery schedule, please contact us.

Send us a message to get started.

Can I add an extra bouquet or two to my subscription one week?

  • We’d be happy to try and accommodate your needs. Please contact us a few days in advance to ensure we can meet your request for that week.

Do you really grow all the flowers you sell.

  • Yes. And only those flowers.

Can we visit your farm? Do you offer photography sessions at your farm? Do you have a U-Pick at your farm?

  • We are not offering on-site visits of any kind at this time.

Can I choose what is in my bouquet?

  • We deliver bouquets made from the freshest flowers available during that week in the growing season. As such, we do not offer custom bouquets with our subscription service. However, we’d be happy to put together a special bouquet for you that’s outside of the subscription service.

Will there be bugs in my bouquet?

  • It is unlikely, but not improbable. If the thought of getting a small, non-offending hitchhiker in your bouquet bothers you, we’re probably not a good fit for your flower needs.

Do you sell your flowers to florists?

Do you offer flowers for corporate events, bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties or anniversary parties?

  • Yes! We can accommodate the needs of many types of special events. We would love to hear about your small, à la carte event to see if we are a good fit.

Send us a message to get started.

  • Who we may be a good fit for: Small scale events (<30 bouquets), an event with color palette and flower flexibility, someone who desires seasonal, locally-grown flowers, someone who appreciates supporting small businesses and respects the constraints of said small business.

  • Who we are not a good fit for: Large, full-service events, someone who desires specific flowers or color palette, someone with a precise vision for their event, someone who wants out-of-season flowers, someone with very specific needs. We respect your vision, so we want to be up-front that we’re not for everyone.

  • Please note that we generally don’t take orders for wedding flowers.
